During an interview with CBN News, she described the dreadful attack, that left eight dead and about a dozen others wounded, as the “antithesis of Jesus.”

The outspoken NBC host then gave an ideal answer to the age-old question of how could a good and loving God allow evil to exist. It all boils down to freedom.

“If I didn’t believe that God is sovereign in all things, I would have been in the looney bin years ago. His ways are not our ways, his thoughts are not our thoughts,” Gifford, who is a Christian, said. “We have to trust that he has it in control, even when everything seems out of control.”

“He is a loving God,“ Gifford said. ”Terrorism did this, not God.”

“What you’re seeing is freedom of will,” Gifford added. “And some people choose to use their freedom to harm and to hurt — the exact opposite of Jesus.”
